CA group involved in Houston, Garcia and Longoria, KSEV

Citizens for a Better America sounds great right? The Gossips wonder why this California based political committee is so interested in the City of Houston elections. First they are running very strange radio ads against Bill White and now they have an attack mailer against Adrian Garcia. Hum, seems to be a anti Democratic Party group. Look at their web site and you will see what they stand for. it is at http://www.cfaba.org/. Besides recalling Gray Davis and impeaching Bill Clinton they also want to do away with a woman's right to choose and to boycott Disney and Disneyland and protect marriage. They don't like Disneyland due to allowing Gays to have a special day to attend the park.

And the Gossips wonder why this group which says :"Citizens For A Better America is a national, grassroots, independent political committee who is committed to electing morality and values based candidates to public office from the lowest to the highest political positions, from party committees to the presidency". If that is the case why are they going after Bill White the only married candidate for Mayor and Adrian Garcia, a police officer for many years. The Gossips wonder how they got involved in the City races, might it be through the local GOP?

Could it be that the Chair of the Harris County Republican Party ,Jared Woodfill , whose law partner is running against Garcia got that group involved the that race? Hector Longoria is that candidate and his jumping into the District H race at the last minute has been of some concern. Longoria claimed he made his switch from At-Large 5 to District H the day of the filing deadline, on Monday September 22. In Thursday's mail, that same week, voters in District H got a very specific Longoria mailer, clearly not something that was created & mailed in 3 days. Longoria's next mailer, that came a few days later, claimed endorsements that have actually gone to other District H candidates, but which Longoria had when he was in his first race, for At-large 5.It including the Houston Police Officer Union, HPOU, which later went to its member a fellow police officer, Adrian Garcia. The Gossips are told that Bob Perry of Perry Homes is the largest contributor to Hector. Perry has lots of Condos in the Heights and apparently wants to build more.

In an At-large race the Gossips hear that Ed Hardee who is filling in on KSEV for John Mathews while he is on leave for something he might have done in Sugarland, is now endorsing someone other then Bert Keller for that seat. Seems like Ed and perhaps even Paul Bentencourt are mad at Keller for voting not to roll back the city's tax rate so they are taking the unusual step of endorsing a Democrat for the At-Large seat. Ed is also a spokesperson for the Anti-Metro group. Politics does make strange bed fellows.

The Gossips wonder what the Citizens For A Better America would be saying about Rush Limbaugh, but there is nothing on their web site about his recent troubles and they claim to be for family values.
